Diane Crosson, founder of D Crosson Group, began this company after many years working in the nonprofit sector. Through her experience providing nonprofit support management to shelter programs in Texas, she observed the critical need for support to nonprofits during executive transitions.

While serving as interim executive director, Diane Crosson provides support and consultation to the nonprofit’s board of directors. Guiding the executive transition includes reviewing organizational systems, addressing key issues and challenges, and helping the board define a leadership agenda for the organization.

With nearly 30 years experience in the nonprofit sector, Diane Crosson has experience as a nonprofit chief executive, trainer, consultant, and counselor. She has over 16 years experience providing nonprofit management support, serving as an interim executive, educating boards, and mentoring new executive directors. Diane Crosson’s accumulated knowledge as a nonprofit chief executive includes responsible fiscal management, experience with grants and fundraising, and relationships with governmental funders. In addition, she has trained dozens of board members and executive directors on executive transition management at several statewide conferences.

Pursuing an interest in executive transitions, Diane Crosson participated in the Alliance for Nonprofit Management’s innovative trainings on executive transitions and interim executive management. In 2008 she attended, by invitation, the in-depth training “Becoming an Interim Executive Director” conducted by CompassPoint Nonprofit Services of San Francisco, a respected national leader in the area of executive transition management. She is a member of the Executive Transition Management Affinity Group of the Alliance for Nonprofit Management.

As Technical Assistance Coordinator for more than 11 years at the Texas Council on Family Violence, a statewide organization, Diane Crosson supported executive transitions through education to boards and assistance to new executive directors. She created the Executive Director Development Program which supported and mentored new executive directors. In addition, she provided consultation and training to family violence service providers, board members, and other professional groups.

A native of Texas, she holds a M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology and a B.S. in Criminal Justice.
